Competition rules

The match will be fished over two three hour sessions.

Competitors will fish three pegs per session, spending one hour on each peg. Each peg will be clearly marked out in advance.
Strictly Barbless or debarbed Hooks only. No boobies.

All fish must be netted and must not be beached by being dragged up the bank.

The match will be fished as Catch & Release, with the winner being decided on greatest points total. The first fish counting as 2 points and following fish as 4. All efforts should be made to keep fish handling to a minimum.

Competition staff will witness and record all fish caught. A fish will be deemed landed once it is in the net and lifted just above the surface of the water.

Competitors may only start fishing when they receive a signal (a whistle or horn tbc). All lines and flies must remain out of the water until then. The same signal will also signal the end of the session.

In the event of a tie, a fish off will be held to determine the winner of the heat. The competitors in question will carry on fishing, with the first to land a fish being decided the winner.

All species of Trout count.

Any issues during the competition should be made to the Match Organiser or Competition staff at the end of the fishing session.
